On July 12, 2024, the ICAR-Central Institute for Cotton Research (ICAR-CICR) in Nagpur welcomed a delegation of twenty-seven members from the Indian Women Scientists Association (IWSA), Nagpur branch. The visit aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among women scientists.
The delegation was guided by prominent scientists from ICAR-CICR, who showcased various research initiatives and laboratory facilities:
Biotechnology Lab: Dr. J. Amudha, Principal Scientist, led the group through the Biotechnology lab, offering insights into the cutting-edge research being conducted in this vital area.
Insectary Research: Dr. Rachna Pande, Senior Scientist, provided an overview of ongoing research activities in the Insectary, highlighting the importance of insect research in agricultural sustainability.
Bt. Referral Activities: Dr. Puja Verma presented the activities related to Bt. (Bacillus thuringiensis) research, which plays a crucial role in pest management strategies.
Tissue Culture Practices: Dr. E. Raghu conducted a session on tissue culture techniques, emphasizing their significance in plant research and crop improvement.
